Review by Carlos Pignataro

The album 1950 1951 by Sidney Bechet is a masterpiece of jazz music that showcases the virtuosity of the legendary clarinetist. The album features a collection of recordings made between 1950 and 1951, and it captures the essence of Bechet's unique style and sound.

The album opens with the upbeat and energetic "Si Tu Vois Ma Mere," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. Bechet's clarinet playing is fluid and expressive, and he is backed by a talented group of musicians who provide a strong foundation for his improvisation.

Throughout the album, Bechet demonstrates his versatility as a musician, playing everything from slow and soulful ballads to fast-paced, upbeat numbers. One standout track is "Petite Fleur," which features Bechet's hauntingly beautiful clarinet melody over a simple, yet effective piano and bass accompaniment.

Another highlight of the album is the swinging "Muskrat Ramble," which showcases Bechet's ability to play fast and intricate lines with ease. The track features some impressive solos from Bechet and his bandmates, and it is sure to get your toes tapping.
