Review by Jo An

The album The Sacred Harp by Leopold Stokowski and The New York Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra is a beautiful and moving collection of choral music. The album features a range of traditional hymns and spirituals, all performed with the precision and passion that are the hallmarks of Stokowski's conducting.

The album opens with the hauntingly beautiful "Amazing Grace," which sets the tone for the rest of the collection. The choir is powerful and emotive, and the orchestra provides a rich and dynamic backdrop that enhances the impact of the vocals.

Throughout the album, Stokowski and the orchestra bring a sense of reverence and solemnity to the music. The arrangements are intricate and complex, with each instrument adding depth and texture to the overall sound.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Wondrous Love," which features a soloist whose voice is both soulful and soaring. The choir provides a rich and layered background, and the orchestra adds a sense of grandeur and majesty to the piece.
