Cabaret Slick is a delightful album by the legendary Herb Alpert and his band, The Tijuana Brass. The album is a fusion of jazz, Latin, and pop music, and features some of the most iconic tracks of the era.

The album starts with the energetic and upbeat "Cabaret" which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The title track "Cabaret Slick" is a playful tune with a catchy melody that will have you humming along in no time.

"Green Peppers" is a standout track that showcases the band's versatility and musical prowess. The song has a groovy beat and features some excellent trumpet solos by Herb Alpert.

Another highlight of the album is "Zorba The Greek", a lively and infectious tune that will get your feet tapping. The band's rendition of the classic Greek tune is nothing short of brilliant.

The band was formed after the Whipped Cream & Other Delights album was released, when live shows made a real band necessary. This group disbanded in 1969. The band members were: - Trumpet, vocals - Trumpet - Trombone - Guitar - Drums - Piano - Bass In 1974, Herb recorded a new album, You Smile-The Song Begins and formed a new band to tour and promote the album. The second band was known as Herb Alpert & the T.J.B. A third incarnation of the group came together to tour after Herb released the Bullish album in 1984. It is interesting to note that studio musicians probably played on most (if not all) of the albums, since it seems not all of the band members played on the recordings, even after the bands were formed. There are various sources (including the liner notes of the new TJB CD releases) stating that Herb used session musicians to get the exact sound he wanted.

Thanks for posting this. May have seen this video, but don't remember for sure. One of our local T.V. stations used this version of "Cabaret" in some of their locally produced commercials in the late 60's and early 70's. My favorite rendering of this song !

One time a friend of mine were driving and we were a bit lost and this song came on.
Not sure why, but it fit in very well with our situation at the time lol

I am glad you posted this. One thing I noticed is Herb and the TJB are in Time Square in NYC and at 1.29 they are on State Street in Chicago, notice The Chicago Theatre in the background.
