The album features a mix of original compositions and classic jazz standards, all of which are performed with skill and precision.

The Cy Touff Octet is particularly impressive, with their tight ensemble playing and inventive solos. The group's original compositions, such as "Touff Assignment" and "Cy's Piece," are highlights of the album. Meanwhile, the Gerry Mulligan Quartet delivers a more laid-back, cool jazz sound, with Mulligan's baritone saxophone leading the way. Their version of "Love Me or Leave Me" is a standout track.
