Review by Fritz B. Hoering

The album Live by Blue Öyster Cult is a must-have for any rock music enthusiast. This album captures the energy and intensity of the band's live performances and showcases their musical prowess. The album features some of their most iconic hits such as "Don't Fear the Reaper" and "Godzilla" along with lesser-known tracks that are equally impressive.

The band's sound is tight and polished, and their musicianship is on full display throughout the album. The guitar work is particularly impressive, with sharp riffs and intricate solos that showcase the band's technical abilities. The vocals are also strong, with lead singer Eric Bloom delivering powerful performances that capture the emotion and energy of each song.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll," which features an extended guitar solo that is sure to get any rock music fan's blood pumping. Another highlight is "ME 262," a fast-paced rocker that showcases the band's ability to seamlessly blend hard rock with elements of heavy metal.

Hard Rock band from Long Island, New York (USA). The name Blue Öyster Cult first came into use in 1971, but the roots of the group date back to 1967 to a psychedelic group called Soft White Underbelly, which featured Albert Bouchard (drums), Allen Lanier (keyboards, guitar), Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser (guitar), Andy Winters (bass), and Les Braunstein (vocals, AKA ) and operated under the guidance of manager/producer . Braunstein departed in 1969 and was replaced by Eric Bloom. The band changed their name to The Stalk-Forrest group shortly after. Later, Winters was fired and replaced by Albert's younger brother, Joe. The band released their debut album in 1972. All the members contributed to the songwriting but lyrics were often provided by people outside of the group, including Sandy Pearlman, rock scribe , poets (Lanier's longtime companion) and , and science fiction author , amongst others. Eric Bloom served as the band's primary lead vocalist, but Donald Roeser sang what are arguably the band's most famous songs, including "(Don't Fear) The Reaper
