Review by Branislav Bardak

Anthology Of The Guitar is a captivating album that features the works of some of the greatest composers of all time, including Bach, Boccherini, Vivaldi, Barbara, and Jan Polasek. This album is a perfect blend of classic and contemporary guitar music that showcases the versatility and beauty of the instrument.

The album begins with Bach's Prelude in C Major, which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The piece is a perfect example of Bach's mastery of counterpoint and harmony, and the guitar arrangement captures the essence of the original composition. The album then moves on to Boccherini's Introduction and Fandango, a lively and energetic piece that showcases the guitar's ability to convey a wide range of emotions.

Vivaldi's Concerto in D Major is another standout piece on the album, with its intricate melodies and complex harmonies. The guitar arrangement brings out the beauty of the piece, and the soloist's virtuosic playing is truly impressive. The album also includes works by lesser-known composers such as Barbara and Jan Polasek, whose pieces are just as beautiful and captivating as those by the more famous composers.

About Bach, Boccherini, Vivaldi, Barbara & Jan Polasek

Johann Sebastian Bach was born on March 21, 1685 in Eisenach, Thuringia, Germany. A prolific German composer and organist, his sacred and secular works for choir, orchestra and solo instruments drew together the strands of the baroque genre and brought it to its ultimate maturity. Although he introduced no new forms, he enriched the prevailing German style with a robust contrapuntal technique, a control of harmonic and motivic organisation from the smallest to the largest scales, and the adaptation of rhythms and textures from abroad, particularly Italy and France. Many people consider him to be the greatest Baroque composer, and one of the greatest composers of all time. Revered for their intellectual depth, technical command and artistic beauty, J.S. Bach's works include the Brandenburg concertos, the keyboard suites and partitas, the Mass in B Minor, the St. Matthew Passion, The Musical Offering, The Art of Fugue and a large number of cantatas, of which about 220 survive. He died on July 28, 1750. Some of his sons also became composers - , , and .
