Heavy Blanket's self-titled album is a heavy dose of psychedelic rock that is sure to satisfy fans of the genre. The band, which features J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. on guitar, has created a sound that is both familiar and fresh at the same time.
The album's opening track, "Galloping Toward the Unknown," sets the tone for the rest of the record with its thunderous drums and distorted guitar riffs. From there, the band takes the listener on a journey through a series of trippy, fuzzed-out jams that are sure to get heads nodding and toes tapping.
One standout track is "No Telling No Trails," which features a catchy bassline and a guitar solo that is equal parts melodic and shredding. The song's chorus is also memorable, with its repeated refrain of "No telling, no trails."
