Review by ilona Gogia

Inflammable Material by XSLF is a punk rock classic that remains relevant even after more than three decades since its release. The album, which was originally released in 1979, features powerful and politically charged lyrics that speak to the social and political issues of the time. XSLF's music is raw, energetic, and unapologetic, making it an essential listen for anyone who loves punk rock.

The album opens with the explosive track "Suspect Device," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. The song's urgent guitar riffs and driving rhythm section create a sense of urgency that is impossible to ignore. The lyrics, which address the violence in Northern Ireland, are delivered with passion and conviction, making it one of the standout tracks on the album.

Other standout tracks on Inflammable Material include "State of Emergency," "Alternative Ulster," and "Wasted Life." These songs showcase XSLF's ability to blend social commentary with catchy and memorable hooks that stick in your head long after the album has ended. The band's musicianship is also on full display throughout the album, with each member contributing to the overall sound of the record.

Ordered my copy a couple of days ago. I'm a fan of both sets of Fingers but I really appreciate your creative influence Henry! Come back to Bristol with a double length set soon please!

Oops sorry Henry, it wasn't an overly articulate comment, what I really meant was I used admire the reggae influence and wished there was more of it and an element of ska sounds cool. Also - the guitars used in the past (Les Paul/Yamaha SG) seemed to be less abrasive and have a fuller tone, however I do understand they weigh a bloody ton. Anyway I'm coming back from Oz to see you at the Wheatsheaf in June
