Review by Omar Selim

Determination Skank, the album by Tommy McCook, is a masterpiece that showcases the legendary Jamaican saxophonist's talent in full force. The album is a must-have for any reggae or ska fan, as it perfectly captures the essence of the genre and its roots.

From the opening track, "Determination Skank," listeners are immediately drawn in by the upbeat rhythm and infectious horn melodies. The album then transitions into the more mellow "My Best Dress," which highlights McCook's ability to convey emotion through his instrument.

Throughout the album, McCook's saxophone takes center stage, with each track showcasing his virtuosity and creativity. The backing band, made up of some of Jamaica's finest musicians, provides the perfect foundation for McCook to build upon, resulting in a cohesive and powerful album.

One standout track is "Jungle Skank," which features a driving bassline and catchy guitar riff that perfectly complement McCook's saxophone. The track is a testament to the skill of both McCook and the musicians he worked with.
