Review by mitha njejonghae

thOught industry's album, Songs For Insects, is a captivating and thought-provoking release that showcases the band's unique blend of industrial, experimental, and alternative rock sounds. The album features 12 tracks that are filled with haunting vocals, intricate melodies, and powerful lyrics that touch on themes of isolation, disillusionment, and the human condition.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Pale Flowers," which begins with a haunting piano intro before transitioning into a powerful rock anthem. The song's lyrics are both poetic and introspective, exploring the idea of finding beauty in the midst of darkness and despair.

Another standout track is "Cigarette Burns," which features a driving beat and distorted guitars that create a sense of urgency and tension. The lyrics address addiction and the destructive nature of self-destructive behavior, making for a powerful and emotionally charged listening experience.

I saw them in 1994 in Austin Texas. The band killed! The drummer was superhuman.

Very reminiscent of the Japanese Prog Thrash band "Doom".

USA's Thought Industry released five albums before disbanding: their 1992 debut, Songs for Insects, is a clone of Metallica, Megadeth, Fates Warning and Toxik. A senseless mesh of Ska dances, Post-Punk desperate quirkness and dub Thrash Metal chugging, not to count the horrendously faceless vocals.

prog-grunge-art-thrash with gratuitous panning - no chance of fitting in

I had heard of this band but never heard them until now, a friend of mine told me to check them out. I like, also like comment from teacher, we need more teachers like that.

Saw them at the State in Kalamazoo in 1994 or around that time. Best show I ever saw at that local.

Bought this masterwork when it first came out and eagerly awaited every subsequent release! I have them all backed up on two different hard drives. Brent Oberlin is a goddamn genius!! Recently heard about their reunion shows - does this mean a new album?! "Let's go sailing Mr. Hurley, yeeaaahh!" 111mzd!!
