I had searched for a cop of this record for years to no avail. I never thought to do a You Tube search once You Tube was invented. This record and the comments people have posted have brought back so many great memories. I first heard this version played in Ironton, Ohio at the Jolly Roger in 1966. It was a real crowd pleaser and got everyone singing along and dancing. This was always covered by Todd Smith of THE FABULOUS FUGATIVES from Ironton, Ohio. He would have one side of the bar sing the "do do do due, yeah yeah yeah yeah" then have the other side of the crowd sign it louder. The floor would shake. Todd would also sing "I'm going to love you, in every position" at some point in the song. That was outrageous in 1966. The Jolly Roger would also have a band from Ashland, KY play there. They were the Green Goes. Not gring goes. (They had green hair). They would play this version of Stubborn Kinds Fella as well. I'm pretty sure they were Paul Blazer High School guys. This version was also picked up by a band from Portsmouth, Ohio. The band was THE SEEDS OF MISCHEIF. The leader singer was Danny Lawson from Wheelersburg, Ohio. They played all over the area, including at The Steak House, in Chillicothe, Ohio. Danny would introduce the song exactly like the record and would have the crowd sing the do do do due, yeah yeah yeah. Then divide the crowd left versus right side to see who could sing it the loudest. It was a huge hit for the crowd. Danny played at The Club Franklin in Portsmouth and you couldn't get in to the club it was so full. Thanks to okehmelc1 for the upload and to the Magnificent 7 for such a great version of this song.

I remember watching a battle of the bands between The Mag 7 and the Torques! Blown away!

This brings back a lot of memories. I lead guitar for the Castaways back in the mid sixties playing around Lexington. We did several recordings at Cecil Jones Lemco studio.

I'm collecting all the YT versions of this song I can find. Thanks for the upload.

Heard them play all over Lexington in 65-66. Used to go to the Fireplace in Chevy Chase

Hi Larry, I hear that your son has followed in your footsteps as a singer. I hope that you're doing OK. I last heard that you were somewhere in Georgia. Do you still sing with a group? I filled in for Meade a couple of times on drums. I'm still playing in Arizona . I was the permanent drummer with "One of Hours" and the "The Sunovas" from 1965 till 67. To whoever reads this, Larry was an extremely talented singer and performer in Lexington, Kentucky back in the 60's. Anyhow, Larry, take care and Keep Rockin....Rob...........

Wow!! The magnificent seven was the best group in Lexington mid-sixties. This group inspired 7 girls to follow them! Still love you the most!

Man. this version is so cool. Hi Meade, This is Rob. I was the drummer for One of Hours. I want to thank you for giving me some really good tips on playing. I was only in Lexington from 65 till 68 and played with One of Hours and The Sunovas for a while. I recorded with Chetwyg records. Our manager had the studio in his home. I'm telling you ( in my opinion) you guys nailed Stubborn Kind of Fellow and Oh Oh Baby. I know it's almost unholy to say that another bands version can come close to an original artist. However, I feel you guys (especially with Larry Orr singing) truly had the best version of both songs. I also feel that a lot of folks from Lexington, Ky. felt the same. I'm still playing drums in Arizona with a group called Bleu Passion. Take care and Keep Rocking Magnificent 7, even though you guys broke up in '72.

Cover of a Motown song by a group whose name is a misspelling of a Motown group's name. I have come across several other groups called the Temptations on YouTube and elsewhere. I think that all of them predate the famous Motown group. You can find them in my playlist Same Name, Different Artists.
