Review by Ichan Android

Tactics' album "The Sound Of The Sound" is a must-listen for fans of post-punk and new wave music. The band's signature sound is a blend of edgy guitars, driving basslines, and tight drumming, all topped off with the distinctive vocals of Dave Studdert. The album features a mix of upbeat tracks like "Long Weekend" and "Second Language" alongside more introspective songs like "Buried Country" and "Voices." The standout track is "Standing By," a haunting ballad that showcases the band's ability to create emotionally charged music. The production is clean and polished, with a live feel that captures the energy of the band's performances. "The Sound Of The Sound" is a solid effort from Tactics, showcasing their musicianship and songwriting skills. It's an album that will appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers to the genre.

What an Album . Like the ' Church ' they hailed from Canberra . Steve Kilbey who went on to form , ' The Church ' , was the original bass player for ' Tactics ' . Wholly diverse musicians , that in the wash up , were powered by a similar gift , of originality and expression of passion .
