Symphony No. 4 by Shostakovich is a masterpiece that has been beautifully performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Bernard Haitink. The album is a stunning display of the orchestra's skill and the conductor's ability to bring out the best in the music.

The first movement of the symphony is a powerful and dramatic piece that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The London Philharmonic Orchestra delivers a rich and emotive performance that captures the intensity and complexity of the music.

The second movement is a hauntingly beautiful piece that showcases the orchestra's ability to convey a sense of melancholy and longing. The strings are particularly impressive in this movement, weaving together a tapestry of sound that is both haunting and beautiful.

The third movement is a lively and energetic piece that is full of joy and vitality. The London Philharmonic Orchestra delivers a dynamic and exhilarating performance that is sure to get listeners tapping their feet and humming along.

The final movement is a powerful and emotional piece that brings the album to a stunning conclusion. The orchestra's performance is both moving and profound, capturing the depth and complexity of Shostakovich's music.

I seem to have become addicted to this symphony. I keep going back to it. Strange.
