Bowen's saxophone playing is particularly impressive, and he is well-supported by pianist Orrin Evans, bassist Kenny Davis, drummer Donald Edwards, and trumpeter Jim Rotondi.

From the opening notes of "Devil's Advocate," the listener is drawn in by the group's tightly-knit playing and energetic improvisations. The album's title track, "Keep The Change," is a standout, featuring a catchy melody and a driving rhythm section. "Dr. Bob" is a slower, more contemplative piece, with Bowen's saxophone taking center stage and Rotondi's trumpet providing a plaintive counterpoint.
