Review by Silvija Fabijan

Odette De SaintMaurice's album, História Do Macaco do Rabo Cortado, is a beautiful blend of Brazilian rhythms, jazz harmonies, and poetic lyrics. The album tells the story of a monkey who loses his tail and goes on a journey of self-discovery, encountering different characters and situations along the way.

The music is performed by a talented group of musicians, including Odette De SaintMaurice on vocals, percussion, and guitar, and features guest appearances by saxophonist Leo Gandelman, guitarist Ricardo Silveira, and pianist Marcos Ariel, among others. The arrangements are intricate yet accessible, with catchy melodies and groovy rhythms that will make you want to dance.

Odette's voice is the highlight of the album, with a warm, expressive tone that captures the emotions of the songs perfectly. Her lyrics are poetic and playful, with a touch of humor and wisdom that will appeal to listeners of all ages.
