Nipsey Hussle's final album, Victory Lap, is a powerful testament to the late rapper's artistry and vision. Released in February 2018, the album is a masterful blend of hard-hitting beats, introspective lyrics, and guest appearances from some of the biggest names in hip-hop.
From the opening track "Victory Lap," which features a guest verse from fellow West Coast rapper Stacy Barthe, to the haunting "Blue Laces 2," which reflects on Nipsey's past struggles and triumphs, Victory Lap is a tour de force of storytelling and musicality. The album showcases Nipsey's versatility as an artist, with tracks like "Hussle & Motivate" and "Dedication" highlighting his ability to deliver both catchy hooks and poignant verses.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Last Time That I Checc'd," which features a guest verse from YG and a beat that is both menacing and infectious. The song's chorus, "Last time that I checked, it was five chains on my neck," has become a rallying cry for Nipsey's fans and a testament to his unapologetic pursuit of success.
