German-born British composer, born 22 March 1966 in Hameln, Germany. He co-founded the contemporary classical ensemble , with which he stayed for ten years, he has worked with, among many others, Roni Size and Future Sound of London.

The soundtrack for each season is so good, the music for this series just adds so much atmosphere, beautiful is an understatement. Not to mention the show itself, I don't know how many times I've rewatched all three seasons up until this point! And then I read the books and loved it even more. Such an amazing series, everything from the acting, to the cinematography (especially in season 3), it's not an exaggeration to call it a masterpiece.
After the brilliant The LeftOvers, Max Richter this soundtrack feels like a continuation and I can't argue with that.
So lovely the music but... clearly inspired from the baroque theme "Folia" composed and played from many musicians in the XVI, XVII and XVII Century..

I'm still obsessed with this album. It's a masterpiece.
It is hard to explain what this show means to someone who grew up poor with a violent background and love for books and school to start with at least. I have loved many shows, but since Sopranos nothing has come close until this show. I have been looking for an interview with the leas actresses but none in english and not even italian with sub, can one say fangirling over the soundtrack and cast? All the way from Sweden.

I'm an italian woman. This show destroys me with every episode. Growing up in Sicily e in poverty, with a dysfunctional family, I know very well all the emotions portrayed in this tv series. Also the relationship between Lila and Lenù is so complex and fucked up, yet so deep and beautiful, that it makes me feel bittersweet. Every character is wonderfully written. And the books are even more emotional. One of the best piece of modern italian literature.
I've watched the last episode of S3 five times! MBF is remarkable in every way; the casting, the stories, the children...Dede in ep 5 is just a born actress. This musical theme is mesmerizing. Have watched since S1... can't wait for S4.
The music, cast, setting is by far the BEST, such attention to detail, well done! Saludos desde Monterey, California.
