Remember Me is the album that marks the return of Journey to the music scene after a long hiatus. The album, released in 1998, has been received with mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. Some have hailed it as a comeback masterpiece, while others have criticized it for being too generic and lacking the magic of the band's earlier works.
The album features new lead vocalist Steve Augeri, who replaced Steve Perry after he left the band in 1996. Augeri's voice is undoubtedly impressive, but it lacks the distinctiveness and emotional depth of Perry's voice. Nevertheless, he manages to deliver some powerful performances on tracks like "Still She Cries" and "Can't Tame the Lion."
The album's production is slick and polished, with a heavy emphasis on keyboards and guitar solos. The songs are mostly mid-tempo rockers that showcase the band's signature sound. However, there are a few standout tracks that deviate from the formula, such as the ballad "All the Way" and the bluesy "In Self-Defense."
