Review by Kat French

Sitting In The Rain is an album by John Mayall's Bluesbreakers that showcases his incredible talent as a blues musician. The album features a mix of original compositions and covers of classic blues songs, all performed with Mayall's trademark soulful vocals and expert guitar playing.

The album kicks off with the title track, a slow and moody blues number that sets the tone for the rest of the record. From there, Mayall and his band delve into a variety of blues styles, from the upbeat shuffle of "Long Gone Midnight" to the haunting ballad "She's Too Young."

Throughout the album, Mayall's band provides a solid backing for his vocals and guitar work, with standout performances from drummer Hughie Flint and bassist John McVie. Mayall's harmonica playing also adds a layer of depth and emotion to many of the tracks.

There I was, a literal blister on my heel, caught in the rain by an old green tree. I spent the whole night wondering why she and me had to part; and then she returned, for a few months. She never was faithful, then or for the next few months. If only I'd listened to my elders, Johnny Mayall and Biz Markie, I could've been spared all this personal torment for the past 9 months, but I'd be less wise. The fool surely is the one that asks for wisdom, lol. Listen to your elders, and be careful what you ask for; if not, be prepared for some stuff that'll make you say "Hmmmm".
