Review by Pascal Wagner

Breathless by Jerry Lee Lewis And His Pumping Piano is a classic rock and roll album that showcases the legendary musician's incredible talent on the piano. Released in 1958, the album features some of Lewis's most popular hits, including the title track "Breathless," "High School Confidential," and "Great Balls of Fire."

The album is characterized by Lewis's high-energy performances, with his pounding piano and raw vocals driving each song forward. The musicianship on display is impressive, with Lewis and his band delivering tight, well-executed performances that capture the spirit and energy of early rock and roll.

The production values on Breathless are also top-notch, with the album's sound quality holding up remarkably well over the years. The mix is balanced and clear, allowing each instrument to shine through and giving Lewis's vocals the space they need to soar.

I wonder if it was Jerry Lee change Roy's version and got rid of the "Go,Go, Go!" phrase.

Issued by Sun originally as the flip to "Breathless" - a song that JLL never really cared for and he campaigned long and hard to get "Down The Line" elevated. The compromise was that the record was ultimately promoted by Sun as a double A side! As said elsewhere Jerry still opens his show with "Down The Line" to this day. You rarely, if ever hear him do "Breathless" on stage!

This song was written by Roy Orbison!

Jerry Lee's talent eclipsed the other Sun artists, including Elvis.
