Seems to be the same as Janis Ian - Stars but, prior to printing, various details have been crudely obscured (the black masking mark is pixelated) on the sleeve. The black obscuring rim on the labels has been stamped after production. Original issue was US, so this probably is too. Date uncertain but probably prior to 1979 when I bought second hand in its current well used condition (for 10 cents from the Record Market in Brisbane).
This version has "Made in England" at the bottom of the labels, not on the righthand side like this other UK release, Stars

Escuché esta canción 1 vez en la radio a fines de los 70, principios de los 80 en la version de Francoise Hardy, en francés. Nunca la olvidé. Siempre la recordaba, alguna frase y la melodía ( star, devenir star, ces´t un belle historie, mais je né ce qui viens qui va.... ) . En el 2002 la encontré en youtube creyendo que era de Hardy, ayer la encontré de casualidad por Nina Simone y hoy set/22 encuentro la versión original por su autora. Qué hermosa canción!!!! Gracias Janis Ian!!!!!!!

Jeff Beck & Johnny Depp's new album "18" brought me here. They did a gorgeous version of this, Johnny sings & Jeff, ofc, plays guitar. Wow, such a beautiful song, it blew me away & literally made me cry. Someone commented it was originally sung by Janis Ian & I had to check out the original & I see that she also wrote it. How have I never heard of her? I need to find out more about her
Edit: so, I'm terrible w names. Checked out another of her songs, Seventeen, & yes, I def rembr it. Another beautiful song & very popular when it came out. She's an amazing songwriter. Really tells a story & not formulaic in any way, like some that have a few verses & fill up the rest of the song w a hook & insignificant stuff. So melodic & the instrumentation on 17 is just gorgeous as well. Takes me back to that time. Thank you, Ms. Janis, for your genius music
