IceT - Seventh Deadly Sin

Review by Nick Thacker

Ice-T's Seventh Deadly Sin is a rap album that explores the seven deadly sins of Christianity through a series of hard-hitting tracks. The album is a departure from Ice-T's earlier work, which focused more on street life and gang culture, and instead delves into deeper themes of morality and sin.

The album opens with the track "Intro", which sets the tone for what's to come by featuring a haunting chorus of voices singing "Seven deadly sins, seven ways to win". From there, Ice-T takes the listener on a journey through the seven sins, with each track exploring a different aspect of human nature.

One standout track is "Lethal Weapon", which tackles the sin of wrath. Ice-T's aggressive flow and the pounding beat make for a powerful combination, and the lyrics paint a vivid picture of a man consumed by anger and violence.

Another highlight is "Body Count's in the House", which addresses the sin of greed. Ice-T's band, Body Count, provides the driving metal riff that underpins the track, while Ice-T raps about the corrupting influence of money and power.

Summary by Nick Thacker

Seventh Deadly Sin is a thought-provoking and challenging album that showcases Ice-T's skills as a rapper and his willingness to tackle difficult subjects. While some of the tracks may be too heavy for casual listeners, those who appreciate socially conscious rap will find plenty to enjoy here.
