I'm on my second time listening through the CD, gonna buy the DVD. Jack was an unique and underappreciated icon indeed.
Never would have guessed that Danny Gottlieb had actually played with Jack Bruce and it took a german Big Band. Good one...Jack was in fine form here.
Awesome! Returning back to jazz.
What a kick...
We get to hear the Soul of Cream do a Cream tune in front of a really great big band, most of the members of which were unborn at the time "Disraeli Gears" was released (c. 1968).
I'm so glad that we actually get to SEE Jack's vocal technique here:
Bel Canto is a very specific vocal discipline, involving techniques that demand years of practice to master, and I see (as I always suspected) that he's had them under his belt for a very long time...
...going all the way back to Cream, in fact.
All props to the young man playing guitar who, I assume, knows the size of the shoes he's filling; all props to Herr Keller, the arranger of this gem, who is also the enormously talented conductor.

f^cking WOW!
I miss him. He was a true artist.
Be sure to look at 'Jack Bruce on piano' doing a 6:36 minute solo version of this. Stunning. This is also beautiful.
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
Like the horns nodding as Jack sings the first verse.
