Review by Kaplan International Colleges

Concertini Kontrakadenz is an album that showcases the innovative and boundary-pushing work of composer Helmut Lachenmann. The album features four pieces of music that are characterized by their experimental and unconventional approach to sound.

The first track, "Grido," is a haunting and atmospheric piece that features the sounds of a solo soprano and a large ensemble. Lachenmann's use of extended techniques and unconventional playing methods creates a unique and otherworldly sound that is both captivating and unsettling.

The second track, "Notturno," is a more subdued and introspective piece that features a solo cello and a small ensemble. The piece is marked by its use of extended silences and delicate, subtle sounds that create a sense of intimacy and introspection.

The third track, "Intérieur I," is a dynamic and intense piece that features a large ensemble and a solo piano. The piece is marked by its explosive bursts of sound and sudden shifts in tempo and texture, creating a sense of tension and release.

The final track, "Intérieur II," is a more subdued and contemplative piece that features a solo clarinet and a small ensemble. The piece is marked by its use of extended techniques and unconventional playing methods, creating a unique and immersive sound world.
