Review by Lorelayla Whymper

Gerry & The Pacemakers' album, The Best Of, is a delightful collection of the band's most popular tracks. The album features a total of 18 songs, including hits like "How Do You Do It?", "You'll Never Walk Alone", and "Ferry Cross the Mersey".

The album showcases the band's signature sound, which is a mix of rock and roll and pop. Gerry & The Pacemakers' catchy melodies and upbeat rhythms make this album a joy to listen to.

The vocals of lead singer Gerry Marsden are particularly noteworthy. His emotive delivery and distinctive voice are a standout feature of the album.

About Gerry & The Pacemakers

Gerry and the Pacemakers were a British beat group prominent during the 1960s. Like The Beatles, they came from Liverpool and were managed by Brian Epstein. The group was comprised of Gerry Marsden, Freddie Marsden, Les Chadwick, and Arthur McMahon (aka Arthur Mack), who was replaced on piano by Les Maguire in 1961. They are the second most successful group from Liverpool to hit the U.S. pop charts behind the Beatles.

On this day in 1964 {February 6th} "I'm The One" by Gerry and the Pacemakers peaked at #2 {for 2 weeks} the United Kingdom's Official Top 50 Singles* chart, for the two weeks it was at #2, the #1 record for both those weeks was "Needles and Pins" by the Searchers...

Bill Joel did write this song. Gerry's version here was a live performance from a concert ... about 1981 ... cos in the concert he sang Imagine and referred to John Lennon being killed the previous year
