Review by John Allan

Hold Your FireLetterman, the latest album by indie rock band Gay Nineties, is a vibrant and energetic collection of songs that showcases the band's versatility and musicianship. From the driving guitar riffs of "Letterman" to the catchy hooks of "Big Love", the album is a testament to the band's ability to craft memorable and engaging songs.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "FOMO", which features a pulsing beat and soaring vocals that build to a satisfying crescendo. The song is a perfect example of the band's ability to blend different genres and create a sound that is uniquely their own.

Another standout track is "Holding On", which features a more stripped-down sound that allows the emotional lyrics to shine through. The song is a poignant reflection on the struggles of holding on to a relationship that is falling apart, and it is sure to resonate with listeners on a personal level.

About The Gay Nineties

The Gay Nineties era was a memorable time and experience characterized by societal scandal, suffragette movements, and decadent art. 'Gay Nineties', the band are no different, delivering an explosive live performance showcasing their clear musical sensibility and style, inspired by multiple decades of inspiring artistic influences. "The kind of songs that would impress even The Kooks or The Arctic Monkeys" - Discorder Magazine Working with Producer, Scott Ternan (54-40, Sam Roberts) and Mixer, Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat, Mounties), GayNineties have spent the last 6 months in the studio creating a new full length record which is equal parts swagger, psychedelia keyboard, stomping drums, and tight harmonies. The full album will be released shortly after the release of a two song 7" in January and a Nation-wide single release to Canadian radio. A full length tour of Canada and USA to promote the radio single release and pending record release will happen in January 2014 with band Sydney York. As soon as I heard them play for the first time, I practically forced them straight into the recording studio. - Steve Bays of Hot Hot Heat "Gay Nineties easily stand as my pick for surprise standout from the entire festival." - The Indie Machine at CMW 2013 "Whoa, is this what The Zombies would sound like if they weren't doing the Casino circuit?" - Ion Magazine
