Frankie Gee - Ya Ya

Review by Daniel Barros

Frankie Gee's album Ya Ya is a soulful and upbeat collection of songs that takes listeners on a journey through the classic sounds of Motown and R&B. From the opening track "Ya Ya" to the closing ballad "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing," Gee's smooth vocals and dynamic arrangements keep the energy high and the emotions flowing.

One standout track on the album is "I Need Your Love," which features a funky bassline and catchy chorus that will have listeners singing along. Another highlight is "Just Like a Woman," a soulful ballad that showcases Gee's vocal range and emotional depth.

those deep disco cuts from the 70s are awesome- such fantastic musicianship and classy vocals. Disco is much maligned as a result of the "pop" chart "disco" cash ins

It is actually the other way around - i.e. Eddie Kendricks covered the Frankie Gee version! as Gees version was issue in '75 as flip to 'Ya Ya' and Kendircks' in 76 as a flip to 'Born Again'
