Review by Puneet Bhalla

The album Girls In The City by Esquires is a refreshing and upbeat addition to the indie rock scene. The band's unique sound combines elements of classic rock with modern indie pop, resulting in a sound that is both nostalgic and fresh.

The album opens with the infectious track "Stay." The catchy guitar riffs and upbeat rhythm set the tone for the rest of the album. Other standout tracks include "Come On, Come On," which features a driving bassline and anthemic chorus, and "Girls In The City," which showcases the band's ability to write catchy and memorable hooks.

Esquires' lyrics are relatable and honest, touching on themes of love, heartbreak, and the struggles of growing up. The band's energy and passion are evident throughout the album, making it a joy to listen to from start to finish.

One of those..."I remember when". grooves.....I remember when Girls had one boyfriend. And other guys respected that.

I remember dancing the Bop.....and guys didn't THINK to call you anything besides a lady.

Guys like Girls and Girls liked the Guys.....if a guy asked to carry your school books you knew he liked you. He carried his AND yours. THOSE books were HEAVY. It proved he was STRONG. A sho nuff YOUNG MAN .

THAT SONG!!! ? I LOVE THE ESQUIRES. FOR MAKING THAT SONG. I love them. I Love those BEAUTIFUL ❤️?? DAYS.

Yeah I know The Esquires are from Milwaukee. Just up the road from Chicago. You hear the Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions influence. The Esquires had some really good, early Regional hits back in the day. Man!!! What if ... I think had they advanced beyond Lamar records small independent label, they might have garnered better exposure, promotion, and distribution back in the day. They were uniquely-talented enough. After a brief music hiatus off-the-charts, then later came mid-70's "Girls in the city"
It briefly got some good radio airplay in Chicago yet, It kind of came and went, but I remember, and always liked the song.
