literally just a cheap knock off of the blues
People today don’t even understand how important this song was when it came out. It opened a lot a doors and influenced most of the amazing talented musicians that came afterwards in the 60’s and 70’s.
After this the rest was history
People went nuts went this was played on a blues show. They went ballistic when they saw him live just after this. He was an international sensation within 24 months of this airing.

We're using hula-hoops for a warmup this week in my PE class. This and hound dog are the soundtrack. I can't think of a better musical background for the kids.

Elvis's masterful voice meant that when he hit the loudest, highest notes of this song, he somehow managed to make them soft. He utilized operactic techniques of vibrato. So when people say 'Amerians only liked black music because a white guy was singing it', I like to point out that he was a masterful vocalist and was doing things with his voice that nobody had really heard before. When this song first played on the radio, they ended up playing it all night due to all the phonecalls coming in.
This song sounds it takes place on a train which really tells a story my friends. That’s why I really like Elvis’s songs because it’s different from any other songs. Elvis, keep rocking in heaven You Legend. ?
