Review by Pim Derneden

Côr Meibion Aberystwyth's Gwin y Glannau is an impressive album that showcases the group's exceptional vocal abilities. The Welsh male choir's harmonies are tight and polished, and their performances are filled with passion and emotion.

The album includes a mix of traditional Welsh folk songs and contemporary pieces, all of which are arranged with great care and attention to detail. The choir's rendition of "Calon Lân" is particularly moving, with the group's voices blending together beautifully to create a powerful and uplifting sound.

Throughout the album, Côr Meibion Aberystwyth demonstrates their versatility and range as a choir. From the hauntingly beautiful "Ar Lan y Môr" to the rousing "Men of Harlech," the group's performances are always engaging and captivating.

About Côr Meibion Aberystwyth

The Choir was first formed in 1962 as Aberystwyth Post Office Gleemen under the direction of James Morse. During the fifty plus years of its lifetime it has benefited from the leadership of five further conductors, David Griffiths, Margaret Maddock, Len Williams, Carol Davies and our present Director of Music, Alwyn Evans. The choir has travelled widely over the years with tours in Europe, United States and Canada besides engagements throughout Wales and England. Our concert venues have varied from village halls to national auditoria and great cathedrals. In the Eisteddfod field we have won two National first prizes plus several seconds and others. In 2012 we celebrated our 50th anniversary.
