Cut Copy's second studio album, In Ghost Colours, is a masterful blend of indie rock and electronic pop that captures the essence of the late 2000s music scene. Released in 2008, the album is a vibrant and dynamic collection of songs that showcases the band's ability to craft catchy hooks and infectious rhythms.

From the opening track "Feel the Love" to the closing notes of "Midnight Runner," In Ghost Colours takes listeners on a journey through a world of shimmering synths, driving beats, and soaring vocals. The album's standout tracks include "Lights and Music," a pulsing dance anthem that has become a staple of the band's live shows, and "Hearts on Fire," a soaring ballad that showcases lead singer Dan Whitford's emotive vocals.

Although I enjoyed Cut Copy's debut LP, Bright Like Neon Love, especially the three singles from the record "Future," "Going Nowhere," and "Saturdays," it's not nearly as brilliant as their breakthrough sophomore release, In Ghost Colours. On this album, the Australian indie electronic music group has created fifteen enticing, intoxicating, near-flawless tracks that effortlessly mix 1980s New Order with 1990s Daft Punk style dance music. Despite Cut Copy's obvious influences, I believe the band has created a sound that's uniquely their own that's both familiar and fresh. Personal favorites include the catchy, compelling and romantic "Hearts on Fire," the breezy "Lights
