Review by Lara French

Cousin Oliver's latest album, 818, is a refreshing and dynamic addition to the indie rock scene. With a sound that is both familiar and innovative, the band delivers a powerful and emotive performance that showcases their impressive musicianship and songwriting skills.

From the opening track, "Wishful Thinking," it is clear that Cousin Oliver has crafted an album that is both deeply personal and universally relatable. Through a mix of introspective ballads and upbeat anthems, the band explores themes of love, loss, and self-discovery with a raw and honest approach.

One standout track is "Break My Heart," which features a soaring chorus and driving beat that is sure to get audiences moving. The lyrics are both vulnerable and empowering, touching on the pain of heartbreak while also celebrating the strength that comes from overcoming it.

Another highlight is "Lost and Found," a hauntingly beautiful track that showcases the band's ability to create a rich and textured sound. With its lush instrumentation and evocative lyrics, this song is a standout on an album full of memorable moments.

Holy shit, I had a demo copy of this album like 10 years ago and lost it. This is the first time I thought to look for it on YouTube. Thanks for sharing. This song rules, but ska still sucks.
