Review by Ginny Priz

Blue Aeroplanes' latest album "Weird Shit One Offs False Starts Side Roads To The Wrong Part Of Town" is a unique and eclectic mix of sounds and styles. The band's signature blend of post-punk, indie rock, and poetic lyricism is on full display here, with each track offering something new and unexpected.

From the driving guitars and urgent vocals of "Dead Tree! Dead Tree!" to the haunting, atmospheric "The Unfinished Spanish Galleon Of Finley Lake," the album takes the listener on a journey through a diverse range of emotions and moods. The band's experimental side is also on full display, with tracks like "The Ghost Of A Fly" featuring eerie soundscapes and unconventional instrumentation.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Looking For X's On A Map," a brooding, introspective song that showcases the band's poetic lyricism and knack for crafting catchy hooks. The album's closer, "The Boy In The Bubble," is a triumphant, anthemic track that leaves the listener feeling uplifted and inspired.
