About Alberto della Pergola

Italian with hebrew origins operatic tenor ܰ 1884, Florence, Italy ܞ January 16, 1942, București, România from stroke Was one of the founders of the Romanian Opera from București and served (in the 1910's) as cantor at the Great Sefardi Synagogue in București He taught at the Bucharest Royal Academy of Music where his son and his daughter Edith della Pergola were students In addition to the entire tenor repertoire, he recorded numerous Neapolitan songs and various Romanian romances. 1928 - his wife death On January 16, 1942 he suffered a second, fatal stroke and died
